KERRY graduated from Iowa State University in 1995 with a B.A. in English. While at ISU, she performed in several productions, including one of her favorites, The Glass Menagerie as Laura. In 2000, Kerry received an A.A. in Acting from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. While on the east coast, she performed with several theaters in Boston and New York. Since returning to Des Moines in 2004, she’s garnered a number of local credits including Nancy in Frozen with StageWest; Lady Chiltern in An Ideal Husband, Countess Ellen Olenska in Lorenzo Sandoval’s original adaptation of Edith Wharton’s The Age of Innocence, Livy Clemons in the original play, Twain at Twilight (also written by Sandoval), and Dora in Ebenezer & the Spirit of Giving, all performed at Terrace Hill; Hermia in A Midsummer’s Night Dream, Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, both with Will of the People, performed at Salisbury House; Rosalind in an original piece entitled Shakespeare on Love with Unexpected Company; and her debut with Repertory Theater of Iowa as Nell in Endgame, directed by James Serpento. Kerry has also appeared in several industrial films, commercials, and independent films, including AriesWorks’s Haunting Villisca and Choices, for which she won Best Actress at the 2006 Wild Rose Film Festival.
